Every other fall, Park Ridge residents participate in a community-wide initiative to promote reading and spark discussion around one exceptional book. This September, the Library has taken this bi-annual event one step further and are introducing a Junior Edition of Park Ridge Reads.

The Library invites kids and teens (grades 4 – 8) and their families to read the book Ghost by Jason Reynolds, a 2016 National Book Award Finalist for Young People’s Literature.

Ghost wants to be the fastest sprinter on his elite middle school track team, but his past is slowing him down in this first novel of a brand-new series from Coretta Scott King/John Steptoe Award–winning author Jason Reynolds.

BONUS: Patina, the sequel to Ghost, was released August 29.
