“Coffee With a Cop” Offers Public the Chance to Ask Important Questions

August 4, 2014 04:26 PM
The Park Ridge Police Department invites community members to come discuss local issues, build relationships, and drink coffee at one of its Coffee with a Cop sessions, scheduled this fall in various locations.
Coffee with a Cop provides a unique opportunity for community members to learn more about the department’s work in Park Ridge’s neighborhoods. Since most contacts between law enforcement and the public take place during emergencies, or emotionally charged situations, the sessions offer an opportunity to break down barriers and build positive relationships.
"We hope that community members will feel comfortable to ask questions, bring concerns, or simply get to know our officers," said Police Chief Frank Kaminski. "These interactions are the foundation of community partnerships."
Coffee with a Cop is a national initiative supported by The United States Department of Justice, Office of Community Oriented Policing Services. Similar events are being held across the county, as local police departments strive to make lasting connections with the communities they serve.
All community members are invited to attend. Questions? Please call Community Strategies Officer Julie Genualdi at 847-318-5233, or email jgenuald@parkridgepolice.org.
