The Board of Trustees of the Park Ridge Public Library is pleased to announce that FireLogic Technology Services, a local technology consulting and training firm, has been named the recipient of the 2014 Library Award. Given out annually, the Library Award honors distinguished service to the Library by an individual or organization.

This year, the award honors the contributions of FireLogic founder Derrick Wlodarz and his staff, who for three years have donated their time and expertise to library patrons, particularly at the Computer Help Desk. Once a month, FireLogic provides patrons with information and hands-on assistance using digital devices and other technology, including laptops, smart phones, tablets, and eReaders. FireLogic staff members have also taught multiple computer classes at the Library and assisted with the Tech Fair.

Wlodarz, who was raised in Park Ridge and graduated from Maine South, accepted the award at a meeting of the Library Board on April 15. He was joined by fellow FireLogic staff members Ted Tabaka and Lindsay Jablanovec.

Recipients for the Library Award are selected by the Library Board of Trustees from a group of nominees. In addition to an inscribed award presented to the recipient, the names of each annual honoree are listed on a perpetual plaque at the Library.
