Organized and chartered in 1912 Troop 1 is the oldest active Boy Scout troop in the United States. We are proud of our long history of providing excellence in scouting as we continue our mission to provide a quality traditional values oriented program for boys aged 10 1/2 to 18. We endeavor to develop physical mental and emotional fitness as well as a high degree of self-reliance in the members of our Troop. Troop 1 meets every Monday at 7:30 p.m. in the Scout Room of The First United Methodist Church 
 
Boy Scouts of America Troop 1, Pack 1, and Venture Troop 1 are chartered by First UMC.  Troop 1 is the oldest continuing operated troop in the country, celebrating 100 years in 2012.

Hours:

Troop 1 meets every Monday at 7:30 p.m. in the Boy Scout Room located in the basement of the church.

Venture 1 Crew (high adventure) meets from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m., every first and third Tuesday of each month, in the third floor Fireside Room.

A workshop ONLY for women who are interested in joining the D.A.R. (Daughters of the American Revolution). -- This Genealogy Workshop, sponsored by the Twenty-first Star Chapter NSDAR will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. until Noon in the third floor board room of the Niles Maine District Library. The library is located at 6960 Oakton, Niles, Illinois. Attendees will have the opportunity to work with one of the members on our lineage research team.

Meet w/ Rep from IL Senator Murphy's Office @ Library

A member of Illinois State Senator Laura Murphy's office will be at the Library from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. today. They will be situated in a study room on the 2nd floor. A member of this office is usually at the Park Ridge Public Library on the fourth Thursday of the following months to meet with constituents: Feb., March, May, June, Aug., Sept., Nov., & Dec.. Occasionally, Senator Murphy will be in attendance to answer constituent’s questions. Please phone ahead.

Mark Soderquist, administrative pastor of Westlawn Gospel Chapel on the west side of Chicago, will be the speaker at the 54th Annual Park Ridge Men’s Prayer Breakfast Saturday, April 6, at 7:30 a.m. at the Park Ridge Country Club. Tickets at $30 per person are available online or by mailing a check made payable to Park Ridge Men's Prayer Breakfast, to PO Box 249, Park Ridge, IL 60068. Seating is limited.
