Boy Scouts of America Troop 50 Park Ridge

The Boy Scouts of America was incorporated to provide a program for community organizations that offers effective character citizenship and personal fitness training for youth. Specifically the BSA endeavors to develop American citizens who are physically mentally and emotionally fit; have a high degree of self-reliance as evidenced in such qualities as initiative courage and resourcefulness; have personal values based on religious concepts; have the desire and skills to help others; understand the principles of the American social economic and governmental systems; are knowledgeable about and take pride in their American heritage and understand our nation's role in the world; have a keen respect for the basic rights of all people; and are prepared to participate in and give leadership to American society.

A workshop ONLY for women who are interested in joining the D.A.R. (Daughters of the American Revolution). -- This Genealogy Workshop, sponsored by the Twenty-first Star Chapter NSDAR will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. until Noon in the third floor board room of the Niles Maine District Library. The library is located at 6960 Oakton, Niles, Illinois. Attendees will have the opportunity to work with one of the members on our lineage research team.

A member of Illinois State Senator Laura Murphy's office will be at the Library from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. today. They will be situated in a study room on the 2nd floor. A member of this office is usually at the Park Ridge Public Library on the fourth Thursday of the following months to meet with constituents: Feb., March, May, June, Aug., Sept., Nov., & Dec.. Occasionally, Senator Murphy will be in attendance to answer constituent’s questions. Please phone ahead.

Mark Soderquist, administrative pastor of Westlawn Gospel Chapel on the west side of Chicago, will be the speaker at the 54th Annual Park Ridge Men’s Prayer Breakfast Saturday, April 6, at 7:30 a.m. at the Park Ridge Country Club. Tickets at $30 per person are available online or by mailing a check made payable to Park Ridge Men's Prayer Breakfast, to PO Box 249, Park Ridge, IL 60068. Seating is limited.
