Blanket of Dreams is an annual event and a labor of love where the entire community is invited to come make blankets for the homeless. Sponsored by the Council of Catholic Women, 2017 marks the 16th annual day-long event. The beauty of this event has been how the generations come together and work on making blankets together.

This is a great activity for everyone: Families, friends, neighbors, Girl Scouts, teen groups, clubs…all community members are welcome! OR, come by yourself and you'll meet a new friend. Come when you want between 8:00 am and 6:00 pm on Saturday, November 18, 2017 from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. and stay as long as you can.

Even if you don't sew, we'll teach you how to make blankets - just cut and sew. Bring your own 4 yards of fleece and scissors to cut material. -- We need donations of fleece (in 4 ft long 60 inches wide piece for an adult blanket and 2ft long 60 inches wide for a smaller blanket). Adult blankets are the most needed for the homeless population. If you do sew, please bring your sewing machine.

The blankets are blessed before they are given to the Franciscan Outreach, a homeless shelter at California and Harrison on the west side of Chicago where over 350 homeless persons are served per day.

Free refreshments are served throughout the day for participants courtesy of MSW Council of Catholic Women.

We'll be in the Mary Seat Clark Ministry Center.
