An annual Interfaith fundraiser to benefit Church World Service** hunger relief programs worldwide and our local Maine Township Food Pantry.
Organized through sponsoring churches, participants solicit pledge donations and then walk a 3-mile or 6-mile route through our neighborhoods, raising awareness and supporting the work of anti-hunger and disaster relief organizations. (Funds may be designated for specific disaster relief efforts as well.)
One quarter (25%) of all donations return to the Maine Township Food Pantry in support of their local hunger relief efforts.
Our local CROP Walk is in its 22nd year and has raised nearly $386,000 during that time. We are the sixth largest CROP Walk in the state, last year raising $7,600 for Maine Township Food Pantry, enough to feed 200 needy families for a month.

**(from their website: "Church World Service was born in 1946, in the aftermath of World War II. Seventeen denominations came together to form an agency 'to do in partnership what none of us could hope to do as well alone.' The mission: Feed the hungry, clothe the naked, heal the sick, comfort the aged, shelter the homeless.
…CWS works with partners to eradicate hunger and poverty and to promote peace and justice around the world."
