A United Methodist Women's missions fundraiser event featuring a delicious luncheon, followed by a dramatic historical character portrayal by Ellie Carlson. She portrays Mamah Borthwick Cheney, whose tempestuous relationship with famed architect Frank Lloyd Wright and violent fate scandalized her turn of the century contemporaries. Tickets are $25. The Prairie Avenue Writers will present a public reading of their work from their recently published anthology. The reading will begin at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 14. Following the readings, there will be general discussion about the presented works and about writing for publication and/or personal pleasure in the midst of leading a busy everyday life.
