There is no need for a reservation and the event is free and open to sewers and non-sewers alike.
Come join us for this fun community event of making blankets for the homeless! Families, friends, neighbors, Girl Scouts, teen groups, clubs…all community members are welcome! OR, come by yourself and you'll meet a new friend. Come when you want between 8:00 am and 6:00 pm and stay as long as you can.
Free refreshments for blanket-makers all day.
Bring 2 to 4 yards of fleece and a pair of scissors to cut material. No need to know how to sew. If you do know how to sew, feel free to bring your sewing machine.
To make a baby blanket, please bring 2 yards of fleece
To make a child's Blanket, please bring 3 yards of fleece
To make an adult blanket, please bring 4 yards of fleece
Adult blankets are the most needed for the homeless population.
Blankets will be donated to Franciscan Outreach who serve over 350 homeless persons a day.
The blankets are blessed the following day at Mass before they are given to the needy. For more information, please contact Teri Collins via the info below.
