St. Luke's Lutheran Church will host Camp Allegro Music Camp, celebrating 15 years this summer, from June 22-26 (M-F), 9:00 a.m. to noon, for children entering Kindergarten through 6th grade in the fall. This summer’s theme is “Music of the Caribbean.” Cost of the camp is $60.00 per child, $150.00 per family. St. Luke's Lutheran Church will host Camp Allegro Music and Fine Arts Camp, which is celebrating 15 years this summer, will take place at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Park Ridge from June 22-26 (M-F), 9:00 a.m. to noon.
"Camp Allegro" is a music and fine arts camp that takes place at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in the mornings for one week during the summer. Children entering Kindergarten through 6th grade in the fall are invited to participate.
Themes vary each year, alternating between learning about music from various regions of the world and presenting a musical. Children sing, play Orff and rhythm instruments, learn from special guests, have fun making crafts and eating various snacks relating to the theme, play games and participate in a service project together. The week culminates in a final program on Thursday evening and visiting a local retirement home on Friday morning.
Children entering Kindergarten through 6th grade in the fall, 2015, are invited to participate. This summer’s theme is "Music of the Caribbean."
Children will learn songs and games from the Caribbean Islands, play percussion instruments and learn about daily life and traditions as they make crafts, enjoy snacks, learn from special guests and share in a service project
The camp will help sponsor the Guyana Lutheran Music Academy by collecting new and used musical instruments and funds to purchase music books.
This fun-filled and active week culminates in a special program on Thursday, June 25, at 7:00 p.m. at the church and at a local retirement center on Friday, June 26, at 10:00 a.m.
The cost of the camp is $60.00 per child, $150.00 per family.
