Join us for an evening of wine, hors d'oeuvres and great conversation with three authors who have experienced first-hand some of the most notorious criminal trials in Illinois history.
Sam L. Amirante & Danny Broderick are the co-authors of "Defending a Monster", an account of the trial of serial killer John Wayne Gacy by his own lawyer. Amirante, a former Park Ridge resident and retired judge, currently has a private practice focused on criminal and civil litigation; Broderick is a criminal defense attorney.
Jeff Coen is a court reporter for the Chicago Tribune and has covered some of the most high-profile trials in recent history. His book, "Family Secrets" deals with the 2007 trial of the Chicago Outfit. An upcoming book covers the legal saga of former governor Rod Blagojevich.
Books will be available for purchase and may be signed by the authors.
