The Twenty-first Star Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution will hold a meeting on Wednesday, December 8, at the Park Ridge Country Club, 636 N. Prospect Avenue in Park Ridge at 11:30 a.m. A luncheon will be served at 12:00 p.m. with a meeting and program to follow.
Chapter Regent, Kathryn Murray, is pleased to have the Silverliners ukulele group present a program entitled, "Holiday Favorites". Peg Mistak and Ray Klebba perform classic songs that encourage audience participation. They have released a CD entitled, Silverlines-Live at the City News Café. In addition to being a member of the Silverliners, Peg Mistak also provides ukulele classes for the Park Ridge Park District.
The Twenty-first Star Chapter NSDAR serves the Park Ridge, Niles, Des Plaines, and Morton Grove areas. Women who are interested in NSDAR membership should know that any woman 18 years or older, regardless of race, religion, or ethnic background, who can prove lineal decent from a patriot of the American Revolution, is eligible for membership. The DAR recognizes, "Patriots: as not only soldiers but also anyone who contributed to the cause of American freedom."
