About Angie
My name is Angie Palac, and my family has been parishioners at St. Paul of the Cross Church for 30 years. Several years ago while walking across Touhy Avenue, I was hit by a car. I had a broken neck and multiple pelvic fractures. I needed a blood transfusion before I could have surgery because my hemoglobin level was too low. Afterwards I spent nearly two months in rehabilitation for my injuries. But, what if the blood I so seriously needed was not available? I might not be here today. You always hear how a blood donation can "help save a life." I know firsthand how true it is, and I highly encourage you to donate. It doesn't matter that you'll never know the recipients; they will know you cared. And thanks to you, they'll live to tell about it.
Please join me and your fellow St. Paul of the Cross parishioners in giving others the gift of life.
To schedule an appointment, please visit redcrossblood.org or call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767).
Appointments are preferred; walk-ins welcome after 10:30 a.m.
Every donation of blood saves the lives of three people. The donation process takes about an hour and is perfectly safe and comfortable. Donors have to be at least 17 years old, weigh at least 110 pounds and be in general good health. Most medications are accepted. -------------------- The American Red Cross Collections Team Supervisor can answer any questions you may have about medications or health conditions that might affect your ability to donate blood via phone at 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or.(309) 636-4201 (Peoria)
