A Genealogy Workshop, sponsored by the Twenty-first Star Chapter, DAR, will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2019 in the third floor board room of the Niles Maine District Library. This workshop is only for women who are interested in joining the DAR.
This Genealogy Workshop is for women who are interested in joining the Daughters of the American Revolution (D.A.R.).
Attendees will have the opportunity to work with one of the members on the DAR's lineage research team and receive assistance with APPLICATION papers to the DAR.
Members will also show you how to find information from many different sources: military records, cemetery records, census data, immigration forms, church records, marriage licenses, death certificates, school records, and birth certificates.
Please bring along all your records and information.
Any woman 18 years or older, regardless of race, religion, or ethnic background, who can prove lineal decent from a patriot of the American Revolution, is eligible for membership. The DAR recognizes "Patriots: as not only soldiers but also anyone who contributed to the cause of American freedom."
