Genealogy Workshop @ Niles Library - 21st Star Chapter NSDAR January 2018

A Genealogy Workshop, sponsored by the Twenty-first Star Chapter NSDAR will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. until Noon in the third floor board room of the Niles Maine District Library. The library is located at 6960 Oakton, Niles, Illinois. Attendees will have the opportunity to work with a member of the DAR lineage research team and receive assistance with application papers. This drop in workshop is ONLY for WOMEN interested in joining the DAR.

If you are interested in joining the Daughters of the American Revolution (D.A.R.) you are invited to attend this genealogy workshop. Attendees will have the opportunity to work with one of the members on the DAR's lineage research team and receive assistance with APPLICATION papers to the DAR.

 

Please bring along all your records and information.

 

NEW LOCATION: Join us Saturday, January 27, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. until Noon in the third floor board room of the Niles Public Library located at 6960 Oakton, Niles, IL.

 

At this workshop, volunteers from the 21st Star Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution (D.A.R.) lineage research team will assist you with the completion of the application papers and related requirements for joining the D.A.R. This workshop is only for women who are interested in joining the DAR.

 

Members will also show you how to find information from many different sources: military records, cemetery records, census data, immigration forms, church records, marriage licenses, death certificates, school records, and birth certificates.
 
Please bring along all your records and information. We will have reference books available for your use.

Members of the Twenty-first Star Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution present this opportunity. This is not a Library-run event.

Any woman 18 years or older, regardless of race, religion, or ethnic background, who can prove lineal decent from a patriot of the American Revolution, is eligible for membership. The DAR recognizes "Patriots: as not only soldiers but also anyone who contributed to the cause of American freedom."
