Encore Presentation "The History of the Park Ridge Fire Department", a Park Ridge Historical Society Speaking Program.
Ralph Bishop will again present his acclaimed program on the history of the Park Ridge Fire Department. Captain Ralph Bishop (ret.) served in our Fire Department for many years, beginning on July 1, 1950 at the Meacham Avenue Fire Station, and continuing at the two current stations. He brings a historian’s perspective to his review of the firemen, equipment, fire stations and fires he personally fought while in the Department. His slide presentation will be accompanied by a display of a few Fire Department artifacts. Mr. Bishop is a long-time Member of the Historical Society, and has supported its mission in the past through his service on the Board of Trustees, and as editor of its newsletter, The Lamppost, for many years as well.
This program will be presented in the Park Ridge Public Library’s lower-level meeting room. The Library is located at 20 South Prospect Avenue in Park Ridge.
This program is open to all residents. Coffee will be served. There is no admission charge.
