A member of Illinois State Senator Laura Murphy's office will be at the Library from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. today. They will be situated in a study room on the 2nd floor. A member of this office is usually at the Park Ridge Public Library on the fourth Thursday of the following months to meet with constituents: Feb., March, May, June, Aug., Sept., Nov., & Dec.. Occasionally, Senator Murphy will be in attendance to answer constituent’s questions. Please phone ahead.

A Genealogy Workshop, sponsored by the Twenty-first Star Chapter, DAR, will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. until Noon. The workshop will be held in the third-floor meeting room of the Park Ridge Library, located at 20 S. Prospect Avenue. -- Attendees will have the opportunity to work with one of the members on our lineage research team and receive assistance with application papers. -- This drop in workshop is ONLY for WOMEN interested in joining the DAR.

American Cancer Society 6-hour family, community fundraiser. MAINE WEST HIGH SCHOOL-SOFTBALL FIELD at 1755 S. Wolf Road, Des Plaines, IL from Noon to 6pm --- Relay For Life is a unique 12 hour family-oriented community fundraising event. --- Some of the highlights of our Relay include a survivor/family reception, survivor and caregiver recognition and a luminaria ceremony, in which we honor and remember those who have battled this disease.--- Admission to our event is free!

The local environmental action group Go Green Park Ridge holds its monthly meeting from 7PM to 8:30PM on the 1st Tuesday of the month from September through June at St Mary's Episcopal Church on Prospect. ----- Join other members of Go Green Park Ridge and help raise awareness of environmental issues in our town. Trot Against Trafficking is a fast and fun 5K run/walk in Park Ridge, IL, with the goal of raising awareness and funding organizations and programs that are working to raise awareness and put an end to child and human trafficking.

The purpose of this group is to encourage members to write and provide a safe place to read one’s work and get some feedback. We meet the second Tuesday of every month.

Join the Park Ridge Chamber for our Monthly Networking Luncheon. The Monthly Networking Luncheon is always the 2nd Wednesday of the month and the speaker always changes. The location is usually 720 Garden, but can change. General meetings of the Park Ridge Garden Club are held at the Centennial Activity Center (formerly named the Park Ridge Senior Center) on the second Thursday of the month at 7:00 pm, SEPTEMBER THROUGH JUNE. There are NO meetings in July or August. Meetings include a short business session, followed by guest speakers, refreshments and socializing, and conclude between 9:00-10:00 pm

Park Ridge Toastmasters meets at the First United Methodist Church in Park Ridge on the 2nd & 4th Thursday of each month from 7:30 to 9:30 pm EXCEPT during November and December.
