The 8th annual MaineStreamers "Swing into Spring" Senior Expo will be held on April 25 from 9 AM to 2 PM at the Golf Mill Shopping Center in Niles.

Guests who attend the Maine Township MaineStreamers"Swing into Spring" Senior Expo scheduled for Friday, April 25, 2014, at Golf Mill Shopping Center will have the chance to take home their own unique souvenir of this ninth annual senior expo.

Designed to link seniors who need services with vendors who provide them, the event’s overall extended hours will now run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. but exhibits will have new hours from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The variety of exhibits has been expanded, new programming and entertainment will be provided, and Expo staff is preparing to host an enthusiastic and record crowd of approximately 1,600 visitors 55 years old up who are interested in a wide variety of products and services.

Many Illinois state, Cook County and regional agencies such as the RTA, Secretary of State, State Treasurer, and others will join approximately 50 commercial exhibitors expected to be on hand; featuring displays from senior housing, health, financial services, and other providers of products and services that benefit older Americans.

Also, Maine Township's Highway Department, Clerk's Office, Assessor's Office, General Assistance, and, of course, the MaineStreamers will be exhibiting.

The Expo promises to be a fun and beneficial event for all who attend. Last year's event was a huge success, with approximately 1,500 seniors attending to take advantage of health screenings, raffles, entertainment, exhibits and informative presentations.

-------------
Entertaining those who watch in the process, free caricatures by Mark Schultz, whose quirky illustrations give people another way to see themselves, will be drawn on a first come first serve basis between 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.

Other entertainment includes a Zumba Gold demonstration by Regina Mundt at 11 a.m. as well as the Denny Diamond Trio at 1 p.m. A fitness program for seniors, Zumba Gold transforms the Latin and International dance rhythms of original Zumba into a safe and effective total body workout for older adults that promote not only physical fitness, but self-confidence.

The Denny Diamond Trio performs the music of Neil Diamond—as well as other famous artists—including Johnny Cash, Roger Miller, Dean Martin, and Ricky Nelson.

The popular Early Bird Bingo hosted by Highway Commissioner Robert Provenzano will start at 9 a.m.

The proven partnership between the MaineStreamers and Golf Mill promises to make the 2014 event the best yet.
