By popular demand, Rachel Barton Pine returns to the Park Ridge Civic Orchestra on April 7th to perform the majestic Beethoven Violin Concerto, followed by the orchestra’s vibrant rendition of Mahler’s Symphony No. 1. Victor Muenzer conducts the concert, first presented this year in Park Ridge.
Hailed as "the most charismatic, the most virtuosic, and the most compelling American violinist of her generation," Ms. Pine enjoys worldwide recognition for her prodigious talents in both classical and popular music. Ms. Pine is dedicated to young musicians, and recently presented master classes to over 200 students in visits to Maine South and Maine East high schools. She reaches young musicians through her philanthropic foundation, whose current projects include an instrument loan program and a supplemental curriculum of music for strings by composers of African descent.
The April 7th concert marks the Park Ridge Civic Orchestra’s debut at The North Shore Center for the Performing Arts, a state-of-the-art performance space located across from Old Orchard Mall in Skokie, IL and is underwritten by Charles Schwab & Co., Inc.
