20 S. Prospect Ave.
The Park Ridge Public Library will be open late tonight - the night after Thanksgiving, until 8:30 pm
The Park Ridge LIBRARY joins in the Park Ridge Uptown/South Park Merchant's Holiday Celebration (in Uptown along the Touhy, Prospect, Northwest Highway and Main Street areas, and in the South Park Shopping area along Devon Avenue) with its Annual Open House.
Various events will occur in the Library over the course of the evening, including ornament making in the Children's department, refreshments in various areas, caroling, etc. The Friends of the Park Ridge Library will be selling Christmas books.
Santa arrives at the Park Ridge Public Library at 6:00 p.m. and the lights on the community tree in Hodges Park will be switched on. Stores and Library are open until 9:00 p.m., with free bus service between Uptown and South Park along streets with homes competing in a holiday decoration contest.

A Special Note about Santa Claus at the Library:
Santa Claus will arrive in front of the Library by 6:00 p.m. on the fire truck. He will officially open Winterfest along with the Mayor and then go into the Children’s Department.
The first hour after Santa’s arrival is VERY BUSY. Because he will be at the Library until 8:30, we highly recommend slipping upstairs and enjoying some refreshments and live music for awhile before braving the Santa Claus line. Your wait will be much shorter!
Please follow the directions given by Santa’s helpers on where to stand in line. Because of fire code regulations, and to ensure that visitors will have access to the service desk, we need to keep the line moving towards the back of the department.
We encourage you to bring your own camera if you want to take pictures with Santa Claus. However, please be courteous to those who are waiting in line behind you and don’t take too many.
