The classes are led by Pastor Larry Lutey, who is trained and certified in leading Active Parenting Workshops. Call the church office at 847-825-6659, or stop in to register. Enrollment for each workshop is limited. The course is open to moms, dads, single parents and grandparents. Childcare is provided for a nominal fee.

The group WINGS (Women in Need Growing Stronger) has been selected to be the recipient of the Park Ridge Whole Foods “One Dime At A Time” Program. Bring your own shopping bag to the Park Ridge store October 1, 2014 through December 31, 2014 and when you check out at the register you can donate to WINGS just by using your own bag!

Community members of all ages are invited to learn more about the life and times of the men and women who helped shape the development of Park Ridge, including early settlers, former mayors and businessmen, soldiers, teachers and even a professional baseball player. Local actors will portray the “Spirits”,and bring to life their individual stories and contributions to Park Ridge history. Tour guides will accompany the groups to the various gravesites, providing additional history and anecdotes.

The Park Ridge Fire Department will host its annual Open House on Saturday, October 4, 2014 from Noon until 3:00 p.m. at Fire Station #36 located on the northwest corner of Greenwood and Oakton -- 1000 N. Greenwood Ave. in Park Ridge. --- This event provides a unique opportunity to meet and greet fire personnel, investigate fire apparatus, and children can learn the fundamentals of fire safety at the Fire Safety House. ----- Come enjoy this fun family event!!
