The Summit Presents the Ghost of Mary Surrant Program

Lynn Rymarz, author and storyteller, will introduce us to the first woman to be executed by the United States Federal Government for taking part in the conspiracy to assassinate President Abraham Lincoln.

Come celebrate Halloween by meeting the ghost of Mary Surratt at The Summit of Uptown, 10 N. Summit (at Touhy), Park Ridge, on Thursday, Oct. 31, at 1:30 p.m.

After you listen to the events that led up to Lincoln’s assassination, her involvement with John Wilkes Booth and the other conspirators, her arrest, her own testimony and others at the military trial, you can decide for yourself. Will you agree with the American boarding house owner when she says, "I should not have died on July 7, 1865. I was innocent."

Light refreshments will be served. Those who attend are eligible for the Summit Guest Rewards Program which offers opportunities to earn rewards and prizes such as gift cards or lunch or brunch for two at Summit. Guests are encouraged to arrive early or stay late for tours of the newly renovated retirement community.
