The mission of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to distribute toys as Christmas gifts to needy children in the community in which the campaign is conducted. During the week before Christmas, the Marines pick up the donations from participating drop-off points and prepare the donations for distribution. Social welfare agencies, churches, and other groups apply to the Toys for Tots Foundation for donated items, which are in turn given to underprivileged children who would not otherwise receive any holiday gifts.
