Two free music programs are being offered in June at The Summit of Uptown in Park Ridge. Mark June 9 and June 20 on your calendar. DIXIELAND is scheduled for Monday, June 9, at 2 p.m. BIG BAND MEMORIES to follow on Friday, June 20, at 1:30 p.m. --- Reservations required.

Registration sessions will be held June 10, 14, 17 and 21 for Park Ridge flag and tackle programs. Cheerleading sign-ups are held at the same time and locations at the Oakton Ice Arena.

The purpose of this group is to encourage members to write and provide a safe place to read one’s work and get some feedback. We meet the second Tuesday of every month.

General meetings of the Park Ridge Garden Club are held at the Park Ridge Senior Center on the second Thursday of the month at 7:00 pm, SEPTEMBER THROUGH JUNE in the Park Ridge Senior Center. (NOTE LOCATION CHANGE: APRIL 2014 meeting will be at the South Park Field House, 833 Talcott Road at Cumberland & Talcott) There are NO meetings in January, July or August. Meetings include a short business session, followed by guest speakers, refreshments and socializing, and conclude between 9:00-10:00 pm

The Farmer's Market will be held every Saturday, from 7:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. from May 24 to October 25, 2014 AT: Prairie and Garden, which is at just south of the Metra train tracks and Touhy, and east of Cumberland Avenues.

Trot against Trafficking 5K Charity Run/ Walk / Kids’ Dash will take place on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at 8:30 a.m. --- New This Year - Kids Race - Ages 4 - 10 - Start Time: 8:00 a.m. Race Begins and ends at Washington Elementary School. 1500 Stewart Ave. ---- All event proceeds will be donated to charities that serve to educate, raise awareness and help victims of human trafficking.
