First United Methodist Church of Park Ridge invites all to a celebration of Avenues To Independence and their continuing service to the developmentally challenged in our community.

Afternoon Adventures for families September 21, October 19, and November 16 from 1-4 p.m. at the Des Plaines History Center, 781 Pearson Street. Cost is $3 per child.

St. Luke’s will host "Active Parenting for Teens" for parents of 12-17 year olds, on 6 Mondays, Sept. 15-Oct. 27 (excluding Oct. 13) from 7:00-9:00 PM. The classes are led by Pastor Larry Lutey, who is trained and certified in leading Active Parenting Workshops. Call the church office at 847-825-6659, or stop in to register. Enrollment for each workshop is limited. The course is open to moms, dads, single parents and grandparents. Childcare is provided for a nominal fee.

The Farmer's Market will be held every Saturday, from 7:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. from May 24 to October 25, 2014 AT: Prairie and Garden, which is at just south of the Metra train tracks and Touhy, and east of Cumberland Avenues.

Join the Timmer Family, along with extended family and friends, in a walk throughout Park Ridge to raise money for the Leukemia Research Foundation (you can learn more about the LRF on our Home Page). The walk will start at the Park Ridge Country Club and weave up and down the streets of Park Ridge – Barbara’s hometown for over 35 years. After the walk, we will meet back at the Park Ridge Country Club for a lunch. Click on event to see details and cost.
