A member of Illinois State Senator Laura Murphy's office will be at the Library from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. today. They will be situated in a study room on the 2nd floor. A member of this office is usually at the Park Ridge Public Library on the fourth Thursday of the following months to meet with constituents: Feb., March, May, June, Aug., Sept., Nov., & Dec.. Occasionally, Senator Murphy will be in attendance to answer constituent’s questions. Please phone ahead.

Mix and mingle with other young professionals over appetizers and refreshing beverages on the 4th Thursday of every month except holidays.

Park Ridge Toastmasters meets at the First United Methodist Church in Park Ridge on the 2nd & 4th Thursday of each month from 7:30 to 9:30 pm EXCEPT during November and December. Please see our Club Calendar for more information, particularly in the months of November and December, as dates may change due to the holidays. The Park Ridge Park District, in combination with local restaurants Beer on the Wall, The Harp and Fiddle, and Hay Caramba, is celebrating autumn with an Oktoberfest! Enjoy great food, live music, beer, and lots of fun! (Rain Date: October 5)

Friends of the Forest Preserves is hosting its Third Annual Beer in the Woods on Saturday, September 28—a beer tasting and nature-themed festival with something for everyone! Hundreds of people will come out on September 28 to taste samples from 30 breweries and cideries and enjoy interactive live animal presentations, home brewing demonstrations, bird walks, an ultimate campsite display, nature-themed crafts, picnic games, local food trucks, a DJ, and more!
