The Niles All American Speakers are charter members of Toastmasters International, a club devoted to the refinement of speech, our mission is to make better speakers of everyone.

Do you want to become a better speaker/leader? Then the Toastmasters can help you! "Become the Speaker/Leader you were Meant to be!" -- Des Plaines Toastmasters 1645 meets on 1st & 3rd Mondays in Room A or B at Des Plaines Public Library, 1501 Ellinwood Ave, Des Plaines, IL -- FREE -- Upcoming meetings are: Feb 5; Mar 19; April 2 & 16, May 7 & 21.

The purpose of this group is to encourage members to write and provide a safe place to read one’s work and get some feedback. We meet the second Tuesday of every month.

Love to Sing? Free singing lessons are offered to adults in all towns surrounding Park Ridge at any level of skill. Join the group for 6 Tuesdays beginning Oct 1 to Nov 5 to learn the basics of vocal production. No need to read music. Whether you only sing in the shower or are already in a choir or group, this program is designed to help you produce the most beautiful sound possible from your voice. No obligation, just for fun.

Bring your young child (infant-2 years) for music, activities, a Bible story, playtime and conversation with other parents.

The Park Ridge Health Commission will present a panel of mental health experts.

Park Ridge Toastmasters meets at the First United Methodist Church in Park Ridge on the 2nd & 4th Thursday of each month from 7:30 to 9:30 pm EXCEPT during November and December. Please see our Club Calendar for more information, particularly in the months of November and December, as dates may change due to the holidays. The Twenty-first Star Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution will hold a meeting on Saturday, October 12, 2019, at the Park Ridge Country Club, 636 N. Prospect Avenue in Park Ridge at 11:30 a.m. A luncheon will be served at 12:00 p.m. with a meeting and program to follow.

The 1920s will roar once more in Des Plaines at the secret location on October 12th. Join the Center of Concern as we jump back in time to the Roaring ’20s for a speakeasy-themed event, “HIDDEN HOPS & WILD GRAPES – IN THE SECRET GARDEN” a time of excess, extravagance, and secrecy.
