The Farmer's Market will be held every Saturday, from 7:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. from May 24 to October 25, 2014 AT: Prairie and Garden, which is at just south of the Metra train tracks and Touhy, and east of Cumberland Avenues.

The Twenty-first Star Chapter of the NSDAR is holding a garage sale on two days: August 22, from 9:00am to 3:00pm and August 23, from 9:00am to 1:00pm. --- This is a "multi-household" fundraiser, so we have a large selection of interesting items for all ages.

Des Plaines History Center’s Historic Adventures trip to the Chicago Botanic Garden Saturday, August 23. Participants will gather at the History Center, 781 Pearson Street, Des Plaines, at noon and carpool to Glencoe. “Bring a camera and capture the colorful beauty of flowers and shrubs,” said William G. Grice, III, one of the Historic Adventures volunteer coordinators. Grice and Janet Thompson lead excursions around the Chicago area.
