Kalo Foundation Announces Scarecrow Contest

September 24, 2013 10:59 AM
The Kalo Foundation invites you and your group to participate in a Scarecrow Decorating Contest to help them put a Halloween face on Park Ridge!
For a $10 donation, wooden forms are provided that can be taken home and dressed, painted, or transformed into whatever you can imagine. Old clothes, padding, headgear, and anything else appropriate can be used to make a one-of-a-kind character.
Return your scarecrow for display by 10:00  a.m. on Saturday, October 5. All entries will to be used to decorate the yard around the Iannelli Studios Heritage Center, 255 N. Northwest Highway, from October 5 – 27.

Residents of The Summit of Uptown will judge the scarecrow contest, and awards will be presented at the Homegrown Horrorfest on Sunday, October 27, at 2:00 p.m. in the Iannelli Studios Heritage Center.
Participants will be free to take their scarecrows home for Halloween after the awards presentation!

If you would like to participate, you can pick up a scarecrow registration form at the Iannelli Studios Heritage Center, which is open to visitors every week on Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., or Sundays from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. You can also download the scarecrow registration form here. For more information call Judy Bacon at (847) 975-6776.
