His unfortunate and untimely death causes a vacancy in the office of Fifth Ward Alderman. The City Attorney has provided information to Acting Mayor Maloney and the City Council as to the process and timeline for filling the vacancy.

Maine Township's 11th annual 80-family Community Garage Sale will be held, rain or shine, Saturday, September 24, 2016 from 9 AM to 3 PM in the parking lot of Maine Township Town Hall, 1700 Ballard Road, Park Ridge.

The 9th annual Low Vision Fair will be held on Friday, April 1, from 1-4 p.m. at East Wing Glenview Senior Center, 2400 Chestnut Ave. Glenview, IL. The fair is co-sponsored by the Glenview, Morton Grove, Niles, Northbrook, Park Ridge, Prospect Heights, Skokie, and Vernon Area Public Libraries. Dr. Jack Cohen, retina specialist, will talk about "Update in Age-Related Macular Degeneration." Glaucoma and Diabetic Retinopathy screenings will be offered.
 
Park Ridge residents are invited to learn firsthand about plans for the upcoming library renovation. Studio GC will present their design ideas on Wednesday, March 16 at 7:00 p.m. in the library’s first floor meeting room.
 
This ten-film series, opening on March 3, will be showcasing the great movie comedy teams of the 1930s, ‘40s and ‘50s. Profiling comedians whose names are synonymous with the Golden Age of Hollywood: Laurel & Hardy, the Marx Brothers and Abbott & Costello, as well as lesser-known teams of Wheeler & Woolsey, Olsen & Johnson and the female comediennes, Thelma Todd, Patsy Kelly and Zasu Pitts, this series is a sequel to the popular 2011 program that profiled the great comics of the silent screen.

The Park Ridge Public Library installed its winter StoryWalk® (a fun, educational activity that places a children's story along a walking path in the community) in Hodges Park— just a two-minute walk from the Library. A winter classic, The Snowy Day by Ezra Jack Keats, follows the adventures of a little boy in the city on a very snowy day.
 
The City of Park Ridge will be hosting a Community Emergency Response Team class for the Winter/Spring 2016. The class will be held Wednesday nights February 3rd through March 16th from 6:30 p.m. until approximately 10 p.m.
 
It’s that time of the year once again…time for us to assist the US Marine Corps Toys for Tots campaign during this Holiday Season.
