Opportunities Abound During National Volunteer Week

April 23, 2013 11:31 AM
National Volunteer Week (April 21-27) honors the crucial role that volunteers play in the wellbeing of any community. And if the recent storms that devastated our area taught us anything, it's that at times like these, volunteers truly shine -- helping out strangers, giving relief to hard-hit neighborhoods.
Whether an individual puts in hours at a hospital, library, crisis shelter, or other organization, he or she works actively to support its mission, performing administrative or customer service tasks, assisting people in need, and sometimes even lending specialized skills.
Are you looking to give back to your community? Do you need service hours for your church or school? Be sure to check out the "Get Involved – Volunteer" section of the Park Ridge Community Network by clicking here. There are currently several positions available, including an urgent call for volunteers still needed in response to local flooding.
We also encourage Park Ridge organizations looking for volunteers to list their openings on the Community Network. Drop us a note here to learn more about how you can be listed, or call (847)720-3202 for more information.
