Recruiting Park Ridge Veterans to Share Their Stories

September 19, 2016 04:26 PM
On October 1, 2016 StoryCorps will have a professional production and media team in Park Ridge City Hall to formally capture stories from our Park Ridge veterans in the form of 40-minute interviews with close family and friends. The interviews are done in complete privacy but will be stored in the National Archives in Washington, DC. With permission, these can be made more public and, in some cases, may be featured on NPR (radio show).

Interview slots are still available on Saturday, 01 OCT for any veterans wishing to share the story and experiences.

Interviews will be held at Park Ridge City Hall. Most available time slots are in the afternoon. If any veterans are interested, please contact Patrick Collins, at 847-337-4439 or patrickcollins1005@gmail.comUnfortunately, we won't be able to accept walk-in on the interview day.

 About StoryCorps

StoryCorps is America’s oral history project. Since 2003, StoryCorps has collected more than 60,000 interviews with over 100,000 participants from all backgrounds -- the largest single collection of human voices ever gathered. Recordings are archived at the American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress so that future generations can hear the stories – and the voices – of today. We share stories online and through our popular weekly NPR broadcasts, podcast, animated shorts, and best-selling books. StoryCorps is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
